TAINAN (TVBS News) — The Tainan City Government held a press conference on Tuesday (May 7) to unveil the state banquet gifts featuring two bags of golden combinations filled with local Tainan specialties.

The city government prepared one bag, while the other was generously sponsored by Kang Yin-shou, chairman of Fucheng Radio.

The city government's "Tainan 400" tote bag includes a Butterfly Love pastry gift box, a Soap Berry skin soap gift box, craft beer from Taiwind Beer, red mulberry jam from Story&Jam, and Taiyen Ocean Alkaline Ion Water.

The gifts sponsored by Kang include top-grade salt flowers from Beimen, renowned as "caviar in salt," pineapple cakes, and bread from Wu Pao-chun, a gold medalist at the World Cup Bread Competition, all packed in a Taiwanese Bag, known as the "LV of Taiwan."

Kang said the two bags of gifts not only symbolize the warm hospitality of the Tainan people but also showcase the creative spirit of Taiwan's champion national team, which is "the more local, the more international."

These gifts incorporate Tainan's unique features. For instance, the red mulberry jam from Story&Jam is made by Lin Wei-hsun, a Tainan jam artisan who recently won a championship in the UK. The packaging of the Soap Berry gift box integrates elements of local landmarks and products, such as the Anping Old Fort, Hayashi Department Store, Confucius Temple, local agricultural and fishery products like pineapple and Chanos chanos, as well as local cultural events like the Burning of the King Boat ceremony and the unique species of Tainan, the Platalea minor.
