TAIPEI (TVBS News)—Circles.Life (無框行動), a digital telco from Singapore, announced the cessation of its operations in Taiwan. Its parent company applied to the National Communications Commission (NCC) for approval, which was granted on Wednesday (May 29).

Since its market entry in June 2019, Circles.Life has been favored by students and young professionals for its no-contract, unlimited data plans.

Business Disputes Lead to Closure
NCC Chief Secretary Huang Wen-che revealed the termination of Circles.Life's partnership with Chunghwa Telecom was primarily due to unresolved business terms and profit-sharing issues.

Circles.Life has 50,000 users who must find alternative telecom providers by July 15, when the service officially ends at midnight.

Transition Plans for Users
Chunghwa Telecom is already planning 5G packages and Hami points schemes to accommodate the transitioning Circles.Life customers.

Since April, Circles.Life has not accepted new applications, and its website now indicates a service suspension, highlighting the urgency to address customer rights and interests.

The closure of Circles.Life in Taiwan marks a significant shift in the telecom landscape, urging existing customers to secure new service providers swiftly. Chunghwa Telecom's forthcoming plans suggest a seamless transition for many, ensuring minimal disruption in connectivity for affected users.
