TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A Kuomintang (KMT, 國民黨) spokesperson announced on Wednesday (July 17) that the think tank will further reduce its staff starting in August, with each research group downsizing to just one researcher. She stated that the reform plan was approved by the think tank's board of directors and completed in phases in full compliance with labor laws and consultations with staff.

Crystal Yang (楊智伃) explained that the KMT think tank has initiated a significant personnel reduction, cutting two-thirds of its staff since May. According to Yang, the restructuring aims to adapt to the new political landscape and boost organizational efficiency.

Future operations will adopt an "outsourcing model," collaborating with pro-blue scholars on critical social issues. Yang emphasized that the think tank's reform is to drive organizational innovation and transformation, ensuring smooth and everyday operations.

The KMT think tank's shift to outsourcing marks a strategic move to remain relevant and practical in Taiwan's evolving political environment. Observers will watch closely how these changes impact the think tank's influence and output.
