TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋) passed its fire safety verification on Tuesday (Aug. 20), clearing a major hurdle for potentially hosting non-sporting events. This development opens the door for potential concerts by Taiwanese star singers Jay Chou (周杰倫) and A-Mei (張惠妹).

Chen Wen-lung (陳文龍), CEO of the Taiwan Fire Protection Safety Center Res Foundation (財團法人消防安全中心基金會, CFS), announced that the final committee member had signed off on the verification. The foundation notified Farglory Group (遠雄) earlier that day. Chen emphasized that any large-scale, non-sporting events at Taipei Dome must include this report for city government review.

In response to the latest progress, Jay Chou, rumored to perform in December, has sparked excitement among fans. His agency, JVR Music (杰威爾), responded to TVBS News, stating, "We will let you know if there are any updates"

Meanwhile, A-Mei, speculated to perform during the New Year’s Eve countdown, has yet to receive a formal notification. Her manager, Isaac Chen (陳鎮川), commented, "We're not aware of this. I'll further check in detail."

Despite passing the fire safety inspection, Taipei Dome must still adhere to local regulations and gain city approval for non-sporting events. Future event organizers must submit activity details to the city government for approval. This ensures that all activities meet safety standards and comply with municipal requirements.
