TAINAN (TVBS News) — Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲) and Japanese model and actress Mariko Okubo unveiled the exhibition area for the 2024 Creative Expo Taiwan (2024台灣文化創意博覽會) on Tuesday (Aug. 20), aiming to promote Taiwan's soft power through the event.

The 2024 Creative Expo Taiwan will take place in Tainan from Aug. 23 to Sept. 1. The countdown to the opening has already begun, generating excitement among locals and visitors alike.

Mayor Huang highlighted that this year's expo theme is "Lesson: D," as "D" is the first letter on Tainan residents' identity cards. He explained that "Lesson D" represents Tainan-themed courses, offering essential Taiwanese cultural knowledge not typically found in exams. The expo will also revisit Tainan's maritime history and diverse cultural elements.

The Tainan City Government announced in a press release that the expo will feature three main exhibition areas: "Main Campus," "Comic Campus," and "Creative Campus." These areas will be located at 321 Art Alley Settlement (321巷藝術聚落), Xizhuwei Hills Cultural & Creative Park (西竹圍之丘文創園區), and Blueprint Culture & Creative Park (藍晒圖文創園區). The expo will include drama, music, lectures, parades, markets, and craft workshops.

The 2024 Creative Expo Taiwan promises a rich, diverse experience, making it a must-visit event for those interested in Taiwan's cultural and historical tapestry.
