TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese singer Jay Chou (周杰倫) sparked a frenzy on Wednesday (Oct. 23) as 150,000 tickets for his upcoming Carnival World Tour (嘉年華世界巡迴演唱會) in December at Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋) sold out in just five minutes.
Fans snapped up almost instantly after tickets for the four-day concert series, starting Dec. 5, went on sale at noon, leaving many disappointed.
According to the ticketing platform TixCraft (拓元售票系統), over 890,000 people logged in simultaneously. Fans who missed out took to social media to express their frustration, with some lamenting, "20 minutes were spent just watching the landing page buffering," and others questioning, "Who exactly managed to get tickets?"
In response to the overwhelming demand, TixCraft announced that all tickets had sold out and that the system would undergo reconciliation. After confirming the unsuccessful booking, they plan to release additional tickets at 3 p.m.
JVR Music (杰威爾), Chou's management company, revealed that the tour would feature an advanced design and cutting-edge technology to enhance the visual experience. It would mark the largest stage set up in the Carnival tour's history.
