TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) announced the latest world rankings on Tuesday (Oct. 29), revealing that Lin Yun-ju (林昀儒) has dropped two places to No. 12. Last week, Lin reentered the top 10 but faced a setback after losing to China's Lin Shidong (林詩棟) in the World Table Tennis (WTT) Montreux championship quarterfinals.

Lin has already traveled to Germany for training in preparation for the Frankfurt Championship, beginning Nov. 3. He aims to defend his men's singles title, which he claimed last year by defeating Japan's Harimoto Tomokazu (張本智和) and China's Wang Chuqin (王楚欽) and Ma Long (馬龍). Lin decided to stay in Europe to avoid travel fatigue, understanding that his performance in Frankfurt would impact his future world ranking as last year's points expire on Nov. 5.

Despite a previous left-hand injury, Lin's condition has improved since the Olympics, though he has yet to reach peak form. The World Table Tennis Championship series holds consecutive events in Europe, with the Frankfurt Championship set to showcase top talent.
