HSINCHU (TVBS News) — Taiwan People's Party Chairman Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) visited his hospitalized father in Hsinchu on Monday (Dec. 30) evening. Ko, who avoided media interactions during his visit, expressed gratitude to his supporters, saying, "Thank you guys." The Taipei District Court (台北地方法院) ruled on Dec. 29 that Ko should be released on an updated NT$70 million bail with electronic ankle monitoring. Ko's wife, Peggy Chen (陳佩琪), completed the bail procedures later that day.

Ko arrived at the National Taiwan University Hospital Hsin-Chu Branch (國立台灣大學醫學院附設醫院新竹台大分院) at 6:10 p.m., accompanied by Hsinchu City Councilor Lee Kuo-chang (李國璋) and Hsinchu's Department of Civil Affairs (新竹市民政處) Director Shih Shu-ting (施淑婷). Lee noted that Ko appeared calm during his hospital visit and interacted well with his father, whose health remained unchanged from a few days prior. Shih urged the public to give Ko time to spend with his family.

Ko stayed at the hospital until 6:44 p.m. and later visited his mother at their Hsinchu home, leaving at 7:50 p.m. without responding to reporters' questions.
