Taipei’s New Year market opens in Datong District

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei's largest and most renowned New Year market will run in the Datong District (大同區) on Dihua Street (迪化街) until Jan. 27. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, this event draws crowds eager to partake in festive shopping. Meanwhile, Regent Taipei (台北晶華酒店) offers a special package starting at NT$7,110 per night. The first 30 guests receive vouchers for Yongle Plaza's (永樂廣場) 30th-anniversary limited fortune gold exchange.

Regent Taipei has also introduced a Lunar New Year accommodation package priced at NT$8,110 per night until Feb. 6. Guests can enter a lucky draw featuring prizes like a Balcony Room (雲天露臺客房) voucher valued at NT$29,799 and weekday afternoon tea for two at Brasserie (栢麗廳).

The Taipei Lantern Festival (台北燈節), running from Feb. 2 to Feb. 16, promises convenient access and remains a beloved attraction. Cosmos Hotel Taipei (天成飯店集團) rolls out a limited-time offer with rates starting at NT$2,249 per night for double rooms across its four hotels from Feb. 2 to Feb. 16. 

Bee House (天成文旅–蜂巢) provides elegant rooms with breakfast, also starting at NT$2,249 per night, allowing travelers to explore Twatutia (大稻埕) and Dihua Street by day and enjoy lantern displays by night. Hua Shan Din (天成文旅–華山町) enhances the Taipei getaway with a rich artistic ambiance, adding a touch of cultural sophistication.
