TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Temperatures across Taiwan are expected to climb to 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) on Tuesday (April 15) as stable atmospheric conditions persist, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署), Taiwan's national meteorological agency. The pleasant weather will be short-lived, however, with officials forecasting increased cloud cover bringing scattered showers to eastern regions and the southern Hengchun Peninsula (恆春半島) by Thursday.

Rising moisture levels will develop starting Friday, meteorologists predict, as a weather system positions itself over waters north of the island through Saturday. The front will shift eastward by Sunday, bringing precipitation with it as it moves. Weather officials expect scattered showers throughout the weekend affecting northern and northeastern Taiwan, as well as mountainous areas in the south. Eastern and southeastern regions may also experience isolated rainfall during this period.

The wet weather pattern will extend through Monday, according to CWA forecasts, creating a four-day stretch of precipitation. The rainfall will primarily impact northern and eastern Taiwan, with mountain communities in the central-southern regions also experiencing consistent precipitation throughout this extended wet period.

Looking ahead to next week, meteorologists anticipate continued unsettled conditions from Tuesday through Thursday as the weather front remains stationed over waters north of Taiwan. Residents in northern and northeastern areas should prepare for scattered showers, while mountainous regions across the island will face an increased likelihood of afternoon precipitation as daytime heating triggers convective activity. ★
