TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Acer Inc. (宏碁), the Taiwanese technology giant, unveiled its annual business report during Tuesday (April 29) shareholders' meeting, detailing the company's aggressive approach to managing persistent global supply chain disruptions. The tech manufacturer emphasized its commitment to maintaining operational vigilance and strategic flexibility amid growing international market uncertainties.
In the comprehensive report, Acer Chairman Jason Chen (陳俊聖) identified several persistent threats to business stability, including intensifying geopolitical tensions, expanding trade barriers, persistent inflation, and unpredictable currency fluctuations. Chen outlined how the company has refined its foreign exchange management protocols and inventory control systems to mitigate these substantial risks.
Chen emphasized Acer's impressive achievement of consistent revenue growth throughout the past six quarters, crediting this success to the company's strategically diversified business portfolio. The technology firm currently oversees 13 publicly listed subsidiaries as of late 2024. Chen revealed that Acer has comprehensively restructured its "Risk Management Committee" (RMC), broadening its responsibilities to strengthen both cybersecurity defenses and corporate sustainability initiatives.
Moreover, Chen expressed optimism regarding artificial intelligence's transformative potential, reaffirming Acer's dedication to harnessing technology that augments human capabilities rather than replacing them. The company projects that AI-powered computers will represent 40% of its total PC shipments by 2025. Acer has already begun integrating artificial intelligence technologies across its product ecosystem, including personal computers, servers, and workstations, while developing specialized tools for learning and analysis to enhance AI applications. ★
