TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's leading automotive manufacturer, Yulon Motor (裕隆), unveiled ambitious international expansion plans during its annual shareholders' meeting on Tuesday (May 27). Chairperson Yan Chen Li Lian (嚴陳莉蓮) announced a strategic partnership that will position the company as a key supplier for Mitsubishi Motors (三菱汽車), with vehicles destined for Australian and New Zealand markets beginning in 2026.

The automotive conglomerate reported impressive financial results for 2024, with consolidated revenue totaling NT$85.77 billion (approximately US$2.87 billion) and after-tax earnings per share of NT$3.78 (US$0.13). During the meeting, Chairperson Yan Chen Li Lian (嚴陳莉蓮) praised the company's resilience amid industry-wide disruptions and supply chain constraints. She underscored Yulon's strategic focus on expanding its electric vehicle portfolio, particularly through its LUXGEN (納智捷) brand, which offers consumers diverse vehicle options and accessible charging infrastructure.

Beyond automotive manufacturing, the chairperson highlighted remarkable progress in the company's diversified lifestyle ventures. The flagship Yulon City (裕隆城) development in Xindian (新店), a suburban district of New Taipei City, has completed its inaugural year of operations with revenues exceeding NT$5.5 billion (US$184.2 million). This mixed-use complex has rapidly transformed into a vibrant commercial hub for the Xindian area, becoming a significant contributor to the group's overall financial performance.

The chairperson emphasized Yulon's unwavering commitment to environmental and social governance principles, detailing initiatives in renewable energy production, sustainable procurement practices, and community support programs for underserved populations. While acknowledging the persistent headwinds facing the automotive industry, including supply chain disruptions and evolving consumer preferences, Yan projected confidence in the company's strategic direction. "We are well-positioned to strengthen our market competitiveness and deliver enhanced value to our shareholders in the coming years," she assured investors. ◼
