TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Zhongshan Commercial District (中山商圈) will host a vibrant jazz festival on Saturday (June 14), transforming Taipei EXPO Park (花博公園) into a lively night tourism hub. The event, organized by the "Zhongshan Commercial District Development Association" (中山商圈發展協會), will feature the prestigious Whim'n Rhythm from Yale University, who will perform alongside Taiwan's Golden Melody Award (金曲獎) winners, The Wanted (尋人啟事).

The festival promises a fusion of jazz music, international cuisine, and cultural stalls, aiming to establish the venue as the "Taiwanese Lan Kwai Fong" (台版蘭桂坊). Organizers plan to serve a 3.5-liter giant bubble tea on stage as the Yale a cappella group and Taiwanese representatives toast the event's success. "Replace the alcohol with black tea" (珍奶代酒) will mark the beginning of this musical celebration, according to the Zhongshan Commercial District Development Association.

Whim'n Rhythm, renowned for their performances across four continents, including at the White House, will join forces with The Riviera Hotel (歐華酒店) and the Taipei Business District & Industrial Confederation (台北市商圈產業聯合會) to enhance the cultural exchange. The Taipei City Office of Commerce (北市商業處) announced that the lineup includes Golden Melody groups, Yale's a cappella ensemble, and street music improvisations, alongside exclusive promotions such as "HAPPY HOUR" discounts from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This open-air market, the only one in Taiwan featuring an international choir from Yale, is expected to generate millions in economic benefits for the commercial district. Attendees can look forward to a unique blend of music and commerce, fostering a cross-cultural musical experience.
