TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Synera Renewable Energy Group (風睿能源) announced Friday (Dec. 5) that it signed a corporate power purchase agreement with Taiwan Smart Electric & Energy (台灣智慧電能公司). The deal promises a long-term power supply from Synera's Formosa 4 (海盛風電) offshore wind farm.

Formosa 4 secured a 495MW capacity allocation during the third phase of block development in 2022. It obtained a permit by late 2024, and upon completion, it expects to power the equivalent of 500,000 households.
The agreement stipulates that once the project connects to the grid, it will supply a fixed share of electricity to Taiwan Smart Electric's power trading platform to coordinate green energy transactions.

Synera's Chairman Lin Yung-Yao (林雍堯) emphasized the importance of offshore wind power, stating, "Offshore wind is widely recognized as a critical source of large-scale, reliable clean energy." Taiwan Smart Electric noted that the collaboration enhances the diversity of its offshore wind sources and lowers the threshold for wind power procurement, extending services to more enterprises.

The company emphasized that the partnership provides clear and flexible procurement options for domestic companies with RE100, carbon management, or green power procurement needs, supporting them in increasing their use of green energy.
This strategic move marks a significant step toward broadening renewable energy options and fostering sustainability in Taiwan's corporate sector.
