TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taoyuan Leapords and TaiwanBeer HeroBears, two teams from Taiwan's T1 Basketball League, engaged in a physical altercation during a game on Monday (Feb. 21).

The fight ensued between Leopards guard Chen Hsiao-jung (陳孝榕) and HeroBears captain Chiang Yu-an (蔣淯安) but was quickly stopped by referees and players from both teams.

However, the HeroBears assistant coach, Lin Chieh-ho (林玠禾), continued to hit Chen even after he was pulled apart.

Further investigation revealed that this was not Lin's first time hitting players on the court. He had previously hit players and referees during the Super Basketball League in 2008 and 2009.

The league penalized both teams, and Lin received the heaviest punishment. The league has also recommended that the team make arrangements regarding Lin's duties.

In addition, the CEO of the Taoyuan Leapords was fined and suspended from games due to the incident.
