HSINCHU (TVBS News) — The Hsinchu City Government released Thursday (Aug 24) the analysis report on the Hsinchu Baseball Stadium by Major League Baseball's (MLB) official field consultant, BrightView, which showed the stadium failing the evaluation.

The report highlighted poor drainage system and deemed the soil composition unsuitable for professional standards, which could increase player injuries.

The stadium, which cost NT$1.2 billion, reopened last July, resulting in four players getting injured within two days. Chad Olsen, BrightView's General Manager, inspected the stadium on July 13 this year.

The report evaluated that the stadium did not meet the standards of not only professional stadiums, but also less critical venues such as parks and serenity fields. The ratio of sand, silt, and clay was also beneath baseball industry requirements.

The report suggested optimization of the stadium's drainage performance, its subsoil stone layer, and infield soil components.

As a response, the Hsinchu City Government promised swift procedures to enhance the stadium's condition, aiming to yield a safe baseball field for the Hsinchu residents.
