TAINAN (TVBS News) — The "Once Upon a Tainan Charm: Treasures from the National Palace Museum" exhibit is set to debut at the Tainan Art Museum on Saturday (Dec. 16), bringing some of Taiwan's most esteemed artifacts to the south for the first time.

During the opening press conference, Premier Chen Chien-jen emphasized that the National Palace Museum's collection should be dynamic and not limited to static display. He noted the exhibition's alignment with Tainan City's 400-year history celebrations, intending to transport visitors back in time.

The exhibit, which marks the first display of these treasures in Tainan, will showcase 15 significant items from the museum, including the Jadeite Cabbage from the Qing dynasty, the Ming dynasty's Vase with lotus and dragon decoration in underglaze blue, and a Jade Plate with Dragon Pattern from the Liao to Jin dynasties.

Chen highlighted the event's importance in presenting Taiwanese culture, including the essence of Chinese civilization and Taiwan's rich historical tapestry. The exhibition, a unique cultural journey, will run until March 10, 2024, offering an enriched historical experience for locals and tourists.
