TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The announcement regarding the hosts for the 16th presidential and vice-presidential inauguration ceremony and state banquet was made on Thursday (April 25). The ceremony will be led by TaiwanPlus English anchor Ethan Liu and SET News anchor Jasmine Liu. Meanwhile, Kuo Ya-hui will host the state banquet, alongside mixed-race male model Kevin Tai.

Both Jasmine Liu and Ethan Liu expressed their honor at being chosen as hosts. They look forward to presenting a different image for the inauguration ceremony themed "Weaving Taiwan Together, Advancing Democracy." Both of them are experienced bilingual hosts in Mandarin and English, and are expected to share the joy of democracy with all guests present.

For the first time, the state banquet for the presidential inauguration will be held in Tainan. Hosts Kuo Ya-hui and Kevin Tai are expected to create a spectacular event. Tai, a Taiwanese-Brazilian mix, speaks excellent Taiwanese and is seen as a symbol of Taiwan's diversity. By hosting the state banquet, Tai hopes guests will understand that "this person may look foreign, but he is Taiwanese".

Kuo Ya-hui has extensive experience hosting programs and ceremonies. She served as the spokesperson for Vice President Lai Ching-te during the election and is capable of handling various unexpected situations.

Holding the presidential inauguration state banquet in Tainan carries special significance as this year marks the 400th anniversary of the city's founding.
