TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Sports Administration (體育署) on July 4 announced Taiwan's delegation for the upcoming Paris Olympics, set to open on July 26. Taiwan will send 60 athletes and 39 coaches, including 23 first-time competitors, to the international event.

Taiwan has qualified for 16 sports at the Paris Olympics, with shooting being the largest contingent, featuring eight athletes. Various teams will depart starting July 17, with the archery team leading the way.

The entire delegation, including support staff, totals 212 people. This includes a significant increase in sports science personnel, from 25 at the Tokyo Olympics to 58 this year. Among them are 16 physical therapists and athletic trainers, ten sports psychology counselors, three intelligence analysts, three fitness trainers, and two nutritionists.

Sports Administration Director Cheng Shih-chung (鄭世忠) said all logistics are ready. He mentioned that they have arranged for athletes to fly business class and rented 50 portable air conditioners for the Olympic Village.

Taiwan has secured 25 A-cards, allowing on-site coaching and P-cards for warm-up areas. The administration has planned a card exchange system to ensure every coach can provide live guidance.

The administration plans for 33 athletes and six delegation members to participate in the opening ceremony. While the flag bearers have not yet been confirmed, they will include one male and one female athlete.
