TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Ministry of Education launched the second phase of the African Elite Program to enhance agricultural expertise among African professionals. From Monday (July 8), the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) will host 25 participants from eight African countries for a three-week training course.

The program aligns with the African Union's "Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want" and involves multiple Taiwanese ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture. The Ministry of Education developed this initiative to foster international cooperation and agricultural development.

Courses on friendly farming and livestock techniques will benefit participants from Eswatini, Tanzania, Kenya, Somaliland, South Africa, Namibia, Nigeria, and Libya. NPUST faculty will lead these sessions, which will be supplemented by industry experts and field visits to Taiwanese agricultural enterprises.

Special lectures will be conducted by the International Cooperation and Development Fund and the Ministry of Agriculture. They aim to introduce advanced agricultural techniques and strengthen the participants' practical skills and understanding of Taiwan's agricultural market.

The training also seeks to improve communication and collaboration between the participants and Taiwan's agricultural technical teams in their home countries.
