PARIS (TVBS News)—Yang Chun-han (楊俊瀚), known as "Taiwan's Fastest Man," will compete in the Men's 200m repechage on Tuesday (Aug. 6) at the Olympic Games. Yang aims to surpass his personal best in this added race format, which offers a second chance for athletes who didn't qualify in Round 1.

Yang failed to meet the qualifying standard in Round 1 on the same day, finishing with a time of 20.83 seconds and ranking sixth in his heat. He acknowledged the varying strengths of each group and set his sights on challenging his personal best of 20.23 seconds to stay in the competition.

The repechage, a new addition to this year's format, allows athletes another opportunity to advance. The race consists of four heats, with the winner of each heat and the following two fastest times moving forward.

Yang's heat in Round 1 included top sprinters such as U.S. star Noah Lyles, who recently won the Men's 100-meter gold, Canadian standout Andre De Grasse, and Japan's Towa Uzawa.

Yang, making his second Olympic appearance, understands the significance of this opportunity. His determination to improve his performance remains unwavering as he prepares for the repechage.
