TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Thousands gathered Friday (Aug. 16) afternoon at Guanqian Rd.'s "Hero Valley" (英雄谷) to celebrate Taiwan's Olympic athletes. The parade, organized by the Presidential Office and the General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC, 中華文化總會), honored the team that shined bright at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The parade began at Presidential Hall Plaza (府前廣場), moved along Section 1, Chongqing South Rd. (重慶南路一段), and continued through Xiangyang Rd. (襄陽路) before ending at Zhongxiao West Rd. (忠孝西路). Spectators packed the streets, with Guanqian Rd. and Zhongxiao West Rd. experiencing heavy congestion as people clamored to see their heroes.

The first vehicle in the procession featured gold medalist boxer Lin Yu-ting (林郁婷) and her coach John Tseng (曾自強). They were followed by gymnast Tang Chia-hung (唐嘉鴻), known as Asia's "King of Cats" (台灣貓王), and his coach Weng Shih-hang (翁士航). Other Olympic heroes soon joined them, receiving a warm welcome from the enthusiastic crowd.

Spectators waved and greeted the athletes, chanting "Team Taiwan!" in unison to celebrate their triumphant return. The event underscored national pride and the collective joy of Taiwan's success on the international stage.
