TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taipei Fubon Braves (臺北富邦勇士) announced on Monday (Aug. 26) that they have signed American center Jeff Withey, who boasts five years of NBA experience and European league credentials. Withey will arrive in Taiwan in early September.

The team's head coach, Hsu Chin-tse (許晉哲), expressed optimism about Withey's addition, highlighting his offensive shooting abilities and defensive blocking skills. He said, "Withey has five years of NBA experience and is a team player. We hope his presence will bolster our defense and enhance our inside game."

Withey, 34, stands at 213 cm and weighs 109 kg. The Portland Trail Blazers selected him 39th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft before trading him to the New Orleans Pelicans. He also played for the Utah Jazz, and Dallas Mavericks.

The Braves' foreign player lineup for the new season includes Nick King, Brandon Walters, Jordan Hamilton, and Withey. On Aug. 30, the Braves will travel to Japan for exhibition games against the Kobe Storks and Shiga Lakestars.
