TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan Taxi (台灣大車隊) announced on Tuesday (Jan. 7) a significant expansion of its 55688 platform, adding airport transfers, instant delivery, and a thousand new lifestyle services. These aim to push the company's operations to new heights in 2025, according to Taiwan Taxi CEO Lin Nien-chen (林念臻).
During the comapny's annual press conference, Taiwan Taxi revealed that its 55688 platform now boasts a fleet of 28,000 commercial vehicles, securing a 30% market share in Taiwan's taxi industry. Lin highlighted the platform's impressive 80 million annual ride requests, emphasizing ongoing collaboration with domestic and international fleets.
The platform's diversification into laundry, home cleaning, instant delivery, and chauffeur services has attracted 7.2 million users, significantly boosting revenue and profits. In 2023, Taiwan Taxi reported revenue of NT$2.872 billion and a net profit of NT$420 million, marking a historic high. The first three quarters of 2024 saw a net profit of NT$379 million, a 23.86% year-over-year increase, with earnings per share at NT$6.41.
Lin looks forward to 2025, collaborating with PRO360 (達人網) to introduce a thousand lifestyle services and enhance airport transfer and instant delivery functions. The 55688 platform will also enter the logistics market, currently serving the Taipei and New Taipei areas, with plans to expand nationwide.
