TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Foxconn (鴻海) plans to complete a massive AI server factory in Guadalajara (瓜達拉哈拉) within a year, despite facing new tariff threats from U.S. President Trump, according to reports. Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro assured on March 6 (Thursday) that the project remains on track.

Lemus told Bloomberg News that the project will unfold in two phases: expanding the existing Foxconn facility in El Salto (艾薩爾托) and constructing a new factory nearby. He expressed confidence that completion is achievable within a year, with production expected to start by the end of this year or early next year.

Cindy Blanco, head of the Jalisco Economic Development Department, revealed that Foxconn is securing permits from El Salto municipal authorities to commence construction. The state government remarked that the authority will provide financial incentives to support the project and assist with related paperwork.

A Foxconn representative declined to comment on the development. Foxconn is investing approximately US$900 million to build the world's largest AI server assembly plant, featuring NVIDIA's (輝達) advanced GB200 AI chips.
