TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Tainan City Government announced on Sunday (March 16) that the Tainan Pavilion at FOODEX JAPAN 2025 in Tokyo achieved a record-breaking transaction volume of NT$420 million over the four-day event. This impressive performance underscores the growing international demand for Tainan's agricultural products, authorities said.
Tainan's agricultural exhibitors secured orders exceeding 6,000 metric tons for fresh and processed fruits, highlighting the competitiveness of Tainan products in the global market. By the event's third day, transaction volumes had already surpassed NT$300 million, exceeding last year's total for four days.
Products like Nansi jujubes (楠西蜜棗) and Yujing dried mangoes (玉井芒果乾) attracted significant attention from international buyers, showcasing the unique appeal of Tainan's agricultural offerings. Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲) emphasized that the city's focus on exporting agricultural products, mainly processed foods, has borne fruit after years of effort.
Mayor Huang noted the excellent quality of Tainan's agricultural products, which have gained attention and support in overseas markets. He stated that this success is a great encouragement for our farmers and that the city government will continue to promote marketing efforts.
