TAIPEI (TVBS News) — One of Taiwan's premier entertainment destinations has been forced to shutter a significant portion of its facilities due to infrastructure issues. Vieshow Cinemas Xinyi (台北信義威秀影城), a cornerstone of Taipei's vibrant cultural landscape, announced Monday (April 7) the temporary closure of 10 theaters after discovering roof leaks throughout its A17 section. Management cited recent erratic weather patterns and dramatic temperature shifts as the primary causes of the structural compromises, necessitating comprehensive repairs to restore proper conditions for patrons. According to the cinema's official Facebook announcement, the closure affects theaters numbered 1 through 11 within the A17 zone, including the specialized 4DX immersive theater experience. The company has implemented a refund policy for customers who had previously secured tickets for showings in the affected screening rooms.

The unexpected closure has forced the postponement of the cinema's highly anticipated "Refurbishment Series Marketing Event" (改裝煥新系列行銷活動), with management indicating they would communicate revised dates once repair timelines become clearer. Despite these setbacks, Vieshow representatives emphasized that the prestigious Golden Horse Fantastic Film Festival (金馬奇幻影展), a highlight of Taiwan's cinematic calendar, will continue uninterrupted in the complex's unaffected A16 section. The company issued reassurances that all festival screenings planned for the upcoming weekend would proceed exactly as scheduled, with no programming alterations. Cinema officials have established multiple communication channels to keep patrons informed about renovation progress and have encouraged regular checks of their official platforms for the most current information regarding reopening schedules.
