TAIPEI (TVBS News) — NVIDIA (輝達) CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) praised President Trump in an exclusive interview on Wednesday (May 21), discussing U.S. reindustrialization and energy policies. Huang highlighted Trump's push for reindustrialization as a great vision, emphasizing its perfect timing. He commended the encouragement of semiconductor manufacturing in the U.S., considering it crucial for the nation's resilience and security.
Huang stressed the need for sufficient energy to build a new AI industry, lauding Trump's pro-energy stance and supporting various forms of energy development. NVIDIA plans to invest US$500 billion (approximately NT$14.95 trillion) in the U.S. to construct AI infrastructure. This massive investment reflects Huang's ambitious vision "to rebuild everything created in the past 60 years over the next decade."
Expressing confidence in America's ability to attract and retain top talent, Huang underscored the necessity for a large workforce of skilled technicians to support the construction of AI factories. These facilities will require not just engineers but also thousands of trained technicians to maintain and operate advanced manufacturing systems.
Amid intensifying U.S.-China competition in the technology sector, Huang maintained a competitive stance. "As long as NVIDIA can compete, the company will go all out and have confidence in winning in the marketplace," he stated, reflecting the company's determination to maintain its leadership position in the global AI chip market. ◼
