TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Eager crowds flooded the Nangang Exhibition Center (南港展覽館) Thursday (Aug. 7) as the 2025 Taiwan Creative Expo (台灣文博會) opened its doors to showcase the island's vibrant creative industry. The five-day event running until Aug. 11 features over 650 brands and 932 booths, marking the largest exhibition in the expo's history. Attendees enjoy free admission to explore creative products from Taiwan, Japan, Macau, Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Singapore across the sprawling venue.
The opening day witnessed extraordinary enthusiasm with lines forming as early as 6 a.m. and wait times exceeding two hours for entry. More than 20,000 visitors had descended upon the exhibition by afternoon, while the venue's capacity allowed only 16,000 people inside at any given time. Many dedicated attendees spent over seven hours navigating the crowded aisles and purchasing coveted items like commemorative keychains and artisanal products.
The Ministry of Culture advised visitors to strategically avoid peak hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or arrive early to secure coveted entry spots. Ministry officials noted that peak attendance periods could result in significant overcrowding and frustratingly extended wait times for eager cultural enthusiasts. Exhibition organizers anticipate this remarkable trend of overwhelming public interest and high attendance levels will continue throughout the event's five-day duration. ◼
