The government weather service forecasts mostly cloudy to sunny skies across Taiwan's main island, with only the southern Hengchun Peninsula (恆春半島) potentially experiencing isolated shower activity. Meteorologists attributed the improving weather pattern to the expanding high-pressure system dominating the western Pacific region.
Weekend weather will feature predominantly sunny skies with easterly to southeasterly wind patterns from Saturday (Aug. 23) through Sunday (Aug. 24), according to meteorological projections. Eastern Taiwan's Taitung County and the southern Hengchun Peninsula will likely encounter scattered shower activity during this period. Weather officials anticipate a low-pressure system positioned south of Taiwan will generate easterly winds and increased moisture from Monday (Aug. 25) to Wednesday (Aug. 27), bringing isolated precipitation to Hualien, Taitung, and Hengchun Peninsula (恆春半島) regions.
Temperature forecasts indicate sweltering conditions across Taiwan, with northern and central-southern regions experiencing peak temperatures of 36 degrees Celsius (96.8°F). Eastern coastal areas will see more moderate highs around 32 degrees Celsius (89.6°F), while Taiwan's outlying islands including Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu will register temperatures between 26 and 33 degrees Celsius (78.8°F to 91.4°F).
