TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Jan Martens (楊.馬騰斯), a Belgian choreographer, will challenge audiences' perceptions of dance at the National Theater (國家戲劇院) from Friday to Sunday (Nov. 7-9) with his acclaimed work, "The Dog Days Are Over" (再見狗日子). Known for its breathtaking 70-minute sequence of eight dancers continuously leaping, the performance first captivated Europe's art scene in 2014 and earned a spot among The New York Times' best dance works of the year.

Martens drew inspiration from American photographer Philippe Halsman's quote to create this raw exploration of the human condition. Since its debut, "The Dog Days Are Over" has toured over 100 times across Europe, America, and Asia, earning accolades as one of the most unforgettable performances of the century. The revival, which began at the Biennale d'art contemporain de Lyon (法國里昂舞蹈雙年展), features a new cast yet evokes the same enthusiastic response.

Van Cleef & Arpels supports the tour through its "Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels" initiative, promoting exceptional European dance performances. The National Theater and Concert Hall (國家兩廳院) invites audiences to experience this transcendent spectacle during the 2025 CTC New Stage Arts Festival ✕ NTCH Autumn Arts Festival from Nov. 7-9.
