TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan People's Party (TPP, 民眾黨) Chairman Huang Kuo-chang (黃國昌) sparked online buzz on Thursday (Dec. 4) by sharing a Facebook photo with former TPP chairman Ko Wen-je (柯文哲), captioned "Yes, I'm ready." This post has fueled speculation about a potential joint livestream, marking Ko's first public appearance with Huang since his release on bail.
Meanwhile, Ko posted the same photo on his Facebook page, adding "Tonight at 8 p.m., we are coming!" This announcement has led many to anticipate a significant event, aligning with Huang's earlier hint on Monday (Dec. 1) about a surprise livestream scheduled for Thursday evening. Huang encouraged his followers to look forward to this "Easter egg," suggesting a joint appearance with Ko.
Peggy Chen (陳佩琪), Ko's wife, also recently addressed concerns from supporters about Ko's activities, noting that he needs time to recover. She mentioned that the year-end debate would be a crucial turning point, stating that Ko would have recovered by then and would once again meet with the public. This statement has increased anticipation for Ko's return to active political engagement.
Osmar Hsu (許甫), the party's deputy secretary-general, added that Ko might greet supporters and interact with party members around the Lunar New Year. This potential joint livestream could be the first step in Ko's gradual re-engagement with the public and the party, setting the stage for more interactions in the coming months.
