TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Tesla Taiwan announced Tuesday (Dec. 9) it sold out Model 3 and Model Y inventory for the current quarter. The electric vehicle manufacturer plans to deliver over 6,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter, marking a 68% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The surge aligns with new shipments arriving at quarter's end.

Limited production quotas for each market mean new orders in Taiwan will be included in the 2026 production batch. Tesla's third-quarter vehicle registrations in Taiwan exceeded 5,700 units, and the company expects to surpass 6,000 new owners this quarter. Total registered vehicles for 2025 are expected to exceed 15,000 units, underscoring growing electric vehicle integration in Taiwan.

The Model Y, which debuted in Taiwan in June, has dominated electric vehicle sales and luxury import SUV rankings from June to September. The vehicle earned a five-star safety rating from the EuroNCAP, excelling in adult and child passenger protection, vulnerable road user protection, and safety assistance systems. The Model Y features high-strength body construction, far-side airbags, Tesla Vision system, and Autopilot.

Tesla Taiwan offers a zero down payment option for select Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, the company announced. Existing car owners can transfer their FSD/EAP to a new vehicle for free if purchased and delivered this quarter. Additional incentives include home charging installation packages and trade-in options for current vehicle owners. New Model 3, Model S, and Model X orders benefit from the owner referral program. ◼ (At time of reporting, US$1 equals approximately NT$31.1)
