TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau (高雄市觀光局) announced on Tuesday (Dec. 30) that the Neimen Recreational Area (內門觀光休閒園區) will begin trial operations on Jan. 17, under the name Yessen Animal School (野森動物學校). During this period, visitors are required to make reservations to access the park.
Kaohsiung City Government funded the park's construction and entrusted Dr. Friendly Co., Ltd. (友志代夫股份有限公司) with its operation. The 11.5-hectare park combines life education, animal conservation, and tourism. It integrates the spirit of the Song Jiang Battle Array (宋江藝陣) and preserves bamboo groves and wildlife habitats, introducing over 20 animal species, including foxes, Harris's hawks, and tamanduas.
The trial operation offers ticket prices of NT$399 for general admission, NT$299 for Kaohsiung residents, and NT$149 for half-price tickets. Residents of Neimen District and children under two can enter for free. Visitors can enjoy a diverse range of dining options, including the Sloth Dining House (樹懶食光屋) and Dream Stone Cafe (夢石咖啡), and explore family-friendly facilities such as the Forest Adventure Village (森育冒險村).
Visitors can drive or take public transportation to Qishan Bus Station, where they can board Bus 8035. Shuttle services are available on weekends, making the park accessible nationwide. Visitors can now make reservations online.
