TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Uni-President Enterprises Corporation (統一超) announced Mon (Jan. 19) that !+? CAFE RESERVE (不可思議咖啡館) will launch a new high-end coffee product on Wed (Jan. 21). The Alishan Geisha Coffee, priced at NT$2,000 per cup, will set a new record for the highest-priced convenience store coffee.

!+? CAFE RESERVE, established by 7-Eleven in 2018, has been promoting local coffee beans since 2019. The brand differentiates itself through professionalism, storytelling, and standardization. This year marks the fifth edition of the Alishan Coffee Season, featuring the Alishan Geisha Coffee, which will be available at five select locations.

Lo Chih-hsien (羅智先), chairman of Uni-President Enterprises, noted that international coffee bean prices surged in 2025. Although he does not anticipate a price drop, he expressed concerns about the negative effects of raising prices, stating that the company will not easily adjust prices. A convenience store franchisee highlighted that Uni-President Enterprises uses limited edition, high-priced specialty coffee to expand the product price range, increasing flexibility in product offerings and avoiding changes to the mainstay CITY CAFE prices.

Meanwhile, FamilyMart (全家) is optimistic about consumer demand for high-quality and high-value coffee. The company will introduce a new coffee product on Wednesday (Jan. 21), combining Alishan estate beans, with prices kept below NT$100.

As both companies gear up for their respective launches, consumers will soon have the opportunity to explore these premium offerings. The contrasting strategies of Uni-President Enterprises and FamilyMart reflect a broader trend in the coffee market, catering to diverse consumer preferences.
