TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A moderate earthquake rattled northeastern Taiwan on Tuesday (Feb. 24) at 12:37 p.m. local time, sending tremors across northern Taiwan including the capital Taipei. The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) estimated the quake reached intensity level 3 and higher across multiple regions including Taipei, Keelung, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Hualien, and Yilan. Residents throughout these areas reported noticeable shaking during the afternoon seismic event, though authorities have not yet reported immediate damage or casualties from the earthquake.
