TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Nvidia (輝達) CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) expressed hope Tuesday (June 2) that Marvell Technology (邁威爾科技) will become the next trillion-dollar company. Huang delivered the bold prediction during a surprise joint appearance with Marvell CEO Matt Murphy at COMPUTEX 2026 in Taipei.
Marvell's current market capitalization stands at approximately US$192 billion (NT$6.02 trillion), according to CompaniesMarketCap (公司市值網), meaning the company would need to increase its value more than fivefold to reach Huang's projection. Nvidia anchored the partnership in March with a US$2 billion (NT$62.7 billion) strategic investment, signaling confidence in the semiconductor firm's growth trajectory.
The partnership centers on replacing traditional copper cables with silicon photonics technology to overcome data transmission bottlenecks in artificial intelligence computing. Nvidia and Marvell co-developed NVLink Fusion technology, which Huang said provides critical flexibility for data platforms through optical interconnects. Co-packaged optics enable faster data transmission across optical fibers, addressing distance limitations in heavy computing workloads.
Murphy said future computing infrastructure will rely on a decentralized architecture incorporating Nvidia's upcoming Rubin architecture alongside semi-custom chips to build distributed data centers. Future facilities will operate as a single, unified system where memory, computing power, and networking blend seamlessly, Murphy said. The collaboration celebrated a long-standing history of engineering work between the two companies, Murphy added.
