TAIPEI (TVBS News) — KYMCO has achieved its goal of building 2,600 battery-swapping stations this year, six months ahead of schedule. The most recent station, which opened at the Hehuan Mountain Visitor Center at an elevation of 3,158 meters, was unveiled during a press conference earlier on Monday (June 19).

Considering the Taiwanese government's mandate for all passenger vehicles to be electric by 2040, KYMCO Chairman Allen Ko said: "We have officially become the most user-friendly and highly satisfactory battery swapping network in Taiwan."

Ko further explained that the Ionex battery swapping stations have now covered over 80% of the administrative districts in Taiwan. This extensive coverage enables riders to locate a swapping station within a mere 100 meters, making it the shortest distance, and recharge their Ionex electric motorcycles in just one minute.

KYMCO has also outlined plans to collaborate with all 1,700 dealers over the next two years, providing service for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) scooters and electric motorcycles. "We aim to enhance our current sales and service network for ICE scooters," Ko informed reporters.

Furthermore, Ko emphasized that customers and dealers are aware of the global trend towards purchasing electric vehicles instead of fossil fuel ones. Nonetheless, he acknowledged that transitioning for KYMCO's dealers is a significant step and stated, "We will provide dealers with relevant training and resources to facilitate a smooth transition."
