TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taipei Dome hosted the opening game of the Asian Baseball Championship on Sunday (Dec. 3) evening, where a crowd of 16,647 fans witnessed the inaugural international event at the venue, and Taipei Metro efficiently evacuated spectators within just 25 minutes after the game.

The evening's "Taiwan vs. Korea" showdown commenced at 6 p.m., and by 8:30 p.m., the Taiwan team secured a 4-0 victory over South Korea, eliciting a wave of excitement from the stands.

In anticipation of the large audience, Taipei Metro increased the frequency of trains at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Station to every 2.5 minutes, successfully evacuating spectators within a short amount of time after the game concluded. Normal metro operations resumed at 9:05 p.m.

Kuomintang (KMT) Taipei City Councilor Wang Hsin-i, who attended the event, praised the smooth handling of the evacuation process. Post-game, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an also conducted an inspection of the traffic conditions to ensure all measures were effective.

The successful execution of this event at the Taipei Dome and the efficient collaboration of transportation services set a positive precedent for future large-scale international sporting events in the city.
