HSINCHU (TVBS News) — The Hsinchu City Government on Monday (March 25) hosted a fire safety experience event for kindergarteners, with an estimated 1,037 children participating over two days.
The young students donned custom-made miniature firefighter uniforms and rescue gear and participated in seven hands-on activities. These included riding in an aerial ladder firefighting truck, earthquake response, firefighting with water hoses, traversing zip lines, learning about drowning prevention, reciting fire safety rhymes, and familiarizing themselves with firefighting equipment.
The event also featured interactive demonstrations with search and rescue dogs. The aim was to instill disaster prevention education in the children through lively and engaging activities, enhancing their understanding of disaster relief knowledge.
In addition, a medical skills learning area was set up to provide parent-child learning of CPR and choking first aid techniques. The fun and educational approach was designed to teach children disaster response skills and cultivate a correct concept of disaster prevention.
