TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A bipartisan delegation led by the U.S. House Committee on Armed Services on Intelligence and Special Operations Subcommittee Chair Jack Bergman visited Taiwan on Wednesday (March 27).

The group is scheduled to meet with President Tsai Ing-wen, Vice President Lai Ching-te, and Vice President-elect Hsiao Bi-khim during their visit from March 27 to 29.

Bergman's delegation includes Donald Norcross, House Armed Services Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee chair, and Representative Jimmy Panetta.

As the Taiwan Relations Act is about to mark its 45th anniversary, Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) welcomed the delegation's visit by stating that the visit demonstrates concrete support for Taiwan.

During their stay, the delegation will exchange views with Taiwan on important issues such as Taiwan-U.S. relations, the situation across the Taiwan Strait, and regional security, according to the MOFA.

This is the second bipartisan delegation organized by the House Committee on Armed Services on Intelligence and Special Operations Subcommittee to visit Taiwan since 2022 when then-Vice Chair Stephanie Murphy visited.
