NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Fuhsin Trade and Arts School in New Taipei City announced on Sunday (March 31) that it has revoked the first prize awarded to a student, surnamed Lin, for his artwork in the school's art exhibition.

The artwork, titled "Causing Havoc in the Dragon Palace," was suspected of being created with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI).

Lin was absent from school for three consecutive days after the suspicion arose, citing illness, participation in a volleyball match, and personal leave as reasons.

Considering human rights factors, the school posted on Facebook late on March 31 that it would re-evaluate the artwork and invite Lin to explain in person

After taking three days off, Lin finally returned to school to admit that he had improperly used AI in creating his artwork.

The school confirmed in the post that Lin violated the school's art exhibition rules and revoked his first-place award. The school will reassign the first-place position based on the ranking of scores.
