TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of Education confirmed on Sunday (April 14) that all 21 Taiwanese students in Israel are safe amid the recent Iranian attack on the country.
The students are primarily enrolled at Tel Aviv University, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) denounced Iran's actions, claiming that they seriously jeopardize peace and stability in the region and around the world. MOFA asked everyone to remain calm, resolve their issues through dialogue, and stop the situation from worsening.
Additionally, MOFA recommended that Taiwanese citizens avoid traveling to Israel and Iran anytime soon. Businesses operating in both countries were urged to prioritize their safety and maintain a watchful eye.
According to Israel's current state of affairs, Mega, a Taiwanese student at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, posted on Facebook that life goes on as usual there despite the incident. She mentioned that offices are still open and businesses, ticket offices, and tourist centers in Jerusalem's Old City run smoothly.
