TAIPEI (TVBS News) — WeatherRisk, a popular meteorological Facebook page reported that subtropical high pressure will slightly strengthen on Wednesday morning (April 17).

A front developed from the Yangtze River region and gradually approached Taiwan, maintaining hot weather across the country.

Inland areas in the central and southern parts, as well as the leeward side of the southeast, will experience extremely high temperatures of 36 degrees Celsius or above.

On the morning of Thursday, WeatherRisk reported that the passing front was likely to cause thunderstorms in the central and northern parts. The front is moving quickly but has a good structure, potentially bringing strong convective rainfall.

By Friday, the cool air in the north will quickly weaken, gradually returning to an easterly to southeasterly wind environment. In the afternoon, cloud cover will increase noticeably in the mountainous areas to the near-mountain areas in the central and northern parts, with a chance of brief rainfall.

On Saturday, the southwesterly wind will strengthen, returning the weather to a more stable and hotter state. Good weather can be maintained until the morning of Sunday. In the afternoon, a weak front will approach the north again, possibly causing a more noticeable convective response in the northeast and increasing the chance of rainfall in the mountains.
