TAIPEI (TVBS News) — NVIDIA (輝達) and Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) (鴻海集團) announced Tuesday (June 4) their collaboration to establish an advanced computing center in Kaohsiung, centered around the "superchip" GB200 server.

This initiative aims to drive platforms in smart manufacturing, smart electric vehicles (EVs), and smart cities.

At COMPUTEX Taipei (台北國際電腦展), NVIDIA's founder and CEO, Jensen Huang (黃仁勳), and Hon Hai Technology Group's chairman, Young Liu (劉揚偉), greeted each other and shared that the GB200 server would be the core of the new computing center in Kaohsiung, highlighting Foxconn's role as NVIDIA's most important partner in AI server manufacturing and supply.

Foxconn, the world's largest AI server manufacturer, plans to complete the Kaohsiung computing center, featuring 64 cabinets and 4,608 GPUs, by 2026.

This center will leverage NVIDIA's AI, Digital Twin, and robotics platforms to foster technological innovation and industry development. In smart manufacturing, Foxconn aims to optimize production capacity through line planning, image recognition technology, and the integration of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs).

Furthermore, Foxconn's new AI factory in Ciaotou, Kaohsiung, will serve as a benchmark for AI factories, incorporating digital twin and cloud connectivity technologies to ensure product quality.

The collaboration between Foxconn and NVIDIA has already yielded preliminary results in the electric vehicle ADAS platform and is in discussions with traditional car manufacturers in Europe and America for smart mobility solutions.

Foxconn has also assisted the Kaohsiung City Government in implementing smart public transportation management. Plans are underway to introduce generative AI technology in digital governance and healthcare, benefiting local residents, the government, businesses, and tourists.

This partnership between NVIDIA and Foxconn in Kaohsiung represents a significant step toward realizing the potential of AI and smart technologies in manufacturing, transportation, and urban living.
