TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A survey released on Monday (Sept. 16) revealed shifts in Taiwanese political party support, with the New Power Party (NPP, 時代力量) showing the most significant gain with a 3.8 percentage point increase, while other major parties saw minimal changes.

The poll, conducted by the Taiwanese Public Opinion Foundation (TPOF, 台灣民意基金會), showed the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP, 民進黨) at 35.5%, the Kuomintang (KMT, 國民黨) at 23.2%, the Taiwan People's Party (TPP, 民眾黨) at 12%, and the NPP at 5.1%.

The remaining respondents either supported other parties (1.8%) or had no specific preference (21.3%). Only 1.1% were undecided, the TPOF surveyed.

Comparing these figures to August, the DPP increased by 1.3 percentage points, while the KMT remained stable. The TPP saw a decline of 1.8 percentage points, attributed to recent controversies.

TPOF Chairman Michael You (游盈隆) noted that the TPP faced allegations of misreporting campaign funds and its chairman, Ko Wen-je (柯文哲), went under scrutiny in connection with the Core Pacific City corruption case.

The survey, conducted from Sept. 9 to 11, included 1,016 adults nationwide, with 710 respondents using landlines and 306 using mobile phones.
