TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei City's Department of Information and Tourism (北市觀傳局) and the "National Day Preparation Committee" (慶籌會) stated on Monday (Sept. 16) that the Ministry of Culture (文化部) and Overseas Community Affairs Council (僑務委員會) will contribute to the National Day celebration event's budget.

Authorities' response came followed reports that singer Jody Chiang (江蕙) will be performing at Taipei Dome (大巨蛋) for the event with President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) in attendance, raising security costs and overall expenses.

Sources familiar with the project revealed that Taipei's large events usually cost around NT$20 million. This year, the committee, led by Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜), will follow tradition by raising funds from both the city government and private donations.

The city's tourism department noted that the event's estimated budget is NT$19.5 million, with NT$9.5 million from the committee and NT$10 million from the city government. These funds will cover planning, marketing, traffic control, and insurance. Contractors may seek additional private resources if necessary.

The committee confirmed that the Ministry of the Interior (內政部) allocated NT$37.5 million for the event and fireworks. Yunlin County Government (雲林縣政府) will handle the fireworks show independently.
