TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Authorities interrogated Ko Wen-je (柯文哲), chairman of the Taiwan People's Party (TPP, 民眾黨) and former Taipei mayor, for the third time on Wednesday (Sept. 18).

The Taipei District Prosecutors Office (台北地檢署) has detained Ko over allegations in the controversial Core Pacific case (京華城案).

Ko, who has remained silent on whether he received money from Core Pacific Group Chairman Sheen Ching-jing (沈慶京), smiled briefly before being escorted into the prosecutors' office.

Last week, prosecutors reclassified Huang Ching-mao (黃景茂), former head of Taipei's urban development department, from a witness to a suspect, releasing him on bail for NT$5 million and restricting his travel.

Prosecutors are investigating the potential involvement of other officials and seeking to clarify how Core Pacific City obtained a 20% floor area ratio bonus.

Ko spent Tuesday's Mid-Autumn Festival alone in detention, though his wife, Peggy Chen (陳佩琪), and the TPP released supportive videos.
