TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kuomintang (KMT, 國民黨) Legislator Lin Szu-ming (林思銘) announced on Wednesday (Sept. 18) plans to forge closer cooperation with the Taiwan People's Party (TPP, 民眾黨) to enhance oversight.

Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) convened cross-party negotiations earlier that day to discuss the start date for the second legislative session.

Lin reiterated the KMT's stance that its legislators should serve as committee chairs, though cooperation with the TPP remains possible.

Lin highlighted public demand for clarity on several policy scandals, including energy transformation projects, Ultra Source (超思) eggs, and COVID-19 vaccines. He criticized the Control Yuan (監察院), Prosecutors Office (檢察署), and Investigation Bureau (調查局) for their lack of active investigation. He promised that these would be KMT's primary goal in the new session.

Regarding the declining public support for TPP Chairman Ko Wen-je (柯文哲), Lin commented that Ko's guilt or innocence should await judicial confirmation. Lin believed that if Ko were innocent, his supporters would continue backing him.
