TAIPEI (TVBS News) — ASUS (華碩) announced its official membership in the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) on Wednesday (Dec. 4), marking a significant milestone as the only Taiwanese computer brand to join the world's largest cybersecurity incident response organization.
Robert Chin (金慶柏), ASUS's chief information security officer, emphasized the importance of this membership. He stated that by joining FIRST, ASUS aims to foster deeper collaboration with the international Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT).
Hsu Tsung-jen (許宗仁), a threat analyst at ASUS, highlighted the benefits of joining FIRST. He noted that the membership allows ASUS to build close partnerships with top cybersecurity experts and leading network protection teams worldwide.
FIRST, an international nonprofit organization, comprises over 700 CSIRT and PSIRT from over 100 countries. The organization strives to enhance global cybersecurity development and resilience. Companies joining FIRST must undergo field assessments and recommendations from two current members, followed by approval from the FIRST board.
